Valentina Attolini (B. 1998, Mexico City) is a Margate-based artist. Her work emerges from the body as a charged site where sensation, memory, desire, and environment converge, accumulate, and transform. Acting at once as origin and threshold, the body becomes a zone of tension, drawn toward moments of rupture in which intense beauty arises through disruption and established orders are unsettled. Within these unstable conditions, contradictions are not resolved but allowed to coexist: desire intertwines with pain, beauty brushes against violence, and stillness unfolds alongside ecstasy. Resisting narrative closure or formal certainty, the work remains open and porous, attentive to overlooked internal states and subtle intensities, tracing processes of becoming rather than fixed identities. In this way, it invites viewers into a space of heightened attention—one that privileges embodied sensation, where meaning is felt before it is understood.

Notes from the Studio is an exhibition bringing together artists of different generations and disciplines, each sharing an item fixed to their studio wall – a note, sketch, postcard, colour test, or other small artefact – to reveal the immediacy of their process and evoke a collective studio environment focused on the fragments that shape their work.
